This tool detects and displays the public IP address (IPv4 or IPv6) of your current request from the server.

What is it

A public IP identifies your device on the internet. The server extracts the real client IP from request headers (e.g. X-Forwarded-For). For privacy, this tool does not include location or ISP.

Displayed value = public IP detected from request headers + IP version (IPv4/IPv6). Location and ISP are not looked up.

How to use

What is the difference between public and private IP?

A public IP identifies your device on the internet; a private IP is used only within a local network. This tool shows the public IP.

Does it show my location or ISP?

No. For privacy, only the IP address and version are shown.

What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?

IPv4 uses 32-bit addresses (e.g. 203.0.113.5); IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses (e.g. 2001:db8::1). Depending on your connection, one or both may be in use.

Why does my IP change?

Most home and mobile connections use dynamic IPs that change on reconnect or over time. With a VPN or proxy, the server IP is shown instead.
